Psychopharmacology Update
Children, Teens & Adults

This three credit continuing education program will present an update on the current status of psychopharmacological agents in four major categories: antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and anxiolytics.
Workshop objectives:
1. Understand the primary classes of medications used with Adult and Child populations and their mechanisms of action.
2 . Be able to identify common medication side effects in both Child and Adult clients.
3. Understand the role of medication in the treatment of co-morbid conditions and/or complicated presentations, such as pregnancy, substance abuse, PTSD, and personality disorders.
4. Identify unique challenges in medication use with Children and Adolescent clients.
5. Recognize new medications recently approved for use in psychiatry and their role in treatment.
Registration will be from 8:00 to 8:30 am.
